The BAHA Education and Training Programme

Rules and Regulations

This section is included to give you an overview of the rules and regulations that control the programme. These are designed to be as flexible as possible to enable you to progress through the course whilst juggling with work commitments. However, we ask that you do observe the following guidelines.

Should you experience any difficulties during your studies, or if your personal or work circumstances change (such as a change of address) please advise the Administration Team.

Coursework

The due dates are shown in the Student Diary and in the online classroom. Please note the following guidelines with regard to the submission of Unit assignments:

  • You may submit the course work up to one week late if appropriate extenuating circumstances exist. These should be agreed with the your Stage Tutor OR Course Director in advance.
  • Normally course work will not be marked if received after the submission date. Please keep in contact with the Course Administrator who will determine revised coursework dates with the Course Director where appropriate.
  • Assignment grades may be carried forward from one cohort to the next if the student is forced to defer to a later cohort due to work commitments. A re-enrolment fee of £50.00 will be due on return to the course. All fees are non-refundable.
  • Unit assignments will be marked by the appropriate tutor and returned by the date stipulated in the timetable.
  • All course work will be returned to you with feedback form that has been completed by the marking tutor.
  • You are required to pass all the coursework set for each Stage. However, failure in one piece of coursework may be compensated in another at the discresion of the Examination Board but this excludes those units that are assessed only by the assignment process.
  • Where a student fails to achieve an overall pass due to the combined coursework marks falling below 40% the additional required work from that student will be determined by the Examination Board process.

Examinations

Examinations are held twice a year at two Examination Centres in the UK, London and Birmingham and at a range of locations overseas. Please note the following points:

  • All examinations are three hours in length plus 10 minutes reading time and are invigilated throughout.
  • The venues for overseas examinations should be arranged by the student and an invigilator arranged in agreement with the Course Director.

Examinations may be taken again at the next available sitting up to a maximum of two further attempts.
